To the readers
of NYC Plus and now Thrive nyc
We are excited, we love this magazine, we love the readers, and truth be told most of us who write and think and struggle on these pages are the exact demographic. We are over 50. We are 56 and 50 and 87 and 52 and 61 and, well, the puzzle man is 27, but we make him talk to his mom about clues. And in fact what we really think this magazine is about, as we mulled our goals for this relaunching from NYC Plus into ThriVe nyc, was a desire to facilitate conversations and share information to make our lives more vibrant, more thriving.
We want chatter between the generations, from the Great Generation to the Baby Boomers to the Gens X, Y, and Z to come. We are as strong as our connections, not what separates us, and that is the direction we going with ThriVe.
We are committed to keeping you up to date on health issues, cutting-edge medical innovation. as well as navigating the shoals of Medicare D. We also know that you crave fun and upbeat inspirational stories, so we’re including sections on food, travel, sports, investing, books, the arts, and tid-bits.
After all there is not one among us who wants a life where we just survive and plod along. Don’t we all really want to ThriVe? Don’t we see these years from 50 and beyond as a time when we can find our genuine selves and let them shine?
So open the pages and come ThriVe with us. We are just beginning to tweak and polish this publication, and we welcome your input. We have a new section called VENT, so write us; we accept snail-mail and e-mail, so tell us what you want to read, see and know.
Thanks for ThriVing with us.
